It all began in Clarksville Arkansas in 1938. Today the Johnson County Peach Festival is the oldest outdoor festival in the state. Come join us in June (see schedule page, for dates) for family fun and entertainment. On Tuesday evening the Barbershop chorus entertains. Bring your lawn chair on Wednesday evening to enjoy the gospel music on our Court Square. Thursday concessioners bring their wares from good ol' home cookin' to handmade arts and crafts. Thursday evening showcases a local band and free street dance. Plan to stay all day Friday with events such as a frog jump contest, terrapin derby and a greased pig chase. Also Friday we will be holding a peach eating contest and a peach cobbler, jam and jelly bake-off. Friday night begins our Miss America preliminary scholarship pageant. Saturday morning starts with a 4-mile run and parade through downtown. Festivities conclude Saturday night with the crowning of Queen Elberta, Miss Arkansas Valley, and Miss Teen Arkansas Valley. Hope to see you there!
